RL environments and AI benchmarks, cataloged daily.

Who builds RL environments, who funds them and how models score, rebuilt every morning from public sources. Every placement links to the line on the company's own site that puts it there.

Today in RL

November 5, 2026 was dominated by Cohere's Rerank 5 launch: two new reranking models (Rerank 5 Fast and Rerank 5 Pro) arrived alongside 13 dedicated evaluation benchmarks spanning multilingual retrieval, document parsing, and calibration quality. Seven new models joined the field in total, including Tencent's Hy4, Ricursive Intelligence's Ripple-65B Preview, and OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra (Max). LifeSci Diamond debuted as a rigorous 55-task regulatory-affairs benchmark for drugs, biologics, and medical devices. Two Design Arena multimodal leaderboards gained new evaluation entries.

  • Cohere Launches Rerank 5 with a 13-Benchmark Evaluation Suite

Cohere introduced Rerank 5 Fast and Rerank 5 Pro, backed by one of the most thorough launch evaluation packages seen this year. The 13 new benchmarks cover standard retrieval (BEIR average, nanoMTEB average, BRIGHT average), multimodal document retrieval (ViDoRe V3, Parsed PDFs), seven multilingual retrieval tasks (Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Japanese, Korean — with more implied), and two calibration-quality measures against human graders and NIST TREC-DL assessors. The calibration benchmarks are particularly notable: they go beyond ranking accuracy to ask whether a reranker's confidence scores are trustworthy enough for downstream decision-making.

  • LifeSci Diamond

55-Task Regulatory-Affairs Benchmark for Drug and Device AI: LifeSci Diamond adds a highly specialized evaluation for AI systems writing regulatory deliverables — change assessment memos, inconsistency logs, dossier consistency checks across Module 2/3, EU variation categories, and device vigilance reports. All 55 tasks are graded criterion-by-criterion by an LLM judge (GPT-6.1 Sol at medium reasoning effort), making it one of the more rigorous domain-specific benchmarks to enter the field this autumn.

  • Ripple-65B Preview

A New Large Model from Ricursive Intelligence: Ricursive Intelligence debuts on the leaderboard with Ripple-65B Preview, a 65-billion-parameter model entering alongside frontier releases. The appearance of a named preview suggests an active release cycle from this previously unlisted lab.

  • Tencent

    Tencent's Hy4 and K2 Horizon 375B A23B Add Heavyweight Options

Tencent's Hy4 joins the leaderboard as the latest entry in the Hunyuan family. Separately, K2 Horizon 375B A23B — a large mixture-of-experts model at 375 billion total / 23 billion active parameters — entered the field, though its developer remains unconfirmed at this stage.

How to read it

A company, in the domain its own site leads with. The logo is its own; the glow is what it mainly sells.

Also covers: a ring at a domain's edge for a company that leads with another domain but also covers this one. A faint line runs to where it leads.

Dots around it: the other things it sells. Hollow while it is still expanding into them.

In short

RL environments, in short

What are RL environments?
A simulated workplace where an AI agent practises a task (a code repository, a browser, business software) and an automatic grader scores each attempt. Labs train on thousands of these attempts. Bought to improve models. More in the glossary.
Who sells RL environments?
74 companies we track sell RL environments, evals or verifiers, among them AfterQuery, HUD, Mercor, Symbal, Turing, Align AI, BenchFlow and Contra Labs. Each is placed by a line from its own website; see them all on the RL environments page.
What is the difference between an RL environment and a benchmark?
An RL environment is for training: a model practises in it and a grader scores each attempt. A benchmark or eval is for measuring: a fixed, held-out set of tasks with fixed scoring, used to measure and compare models. Never trained on, so the score means something. Used to measure models.
What are the main AI benchmarks for agents and LLMs?
Among the most referenced: Humanity's Last Exam, Terminal-Bench 2.1, SWE-bench Verified, AIME 2025, Terminal-Bench Hard, GPQA Diamond, GPQA-D and MMLU-Pro. See the full AI benchmarks list.
Where does this data come from?
Every placement is read from the company's own website or the benchmark's own page or paper, quoted and linked, and the catalog is rebuilt daily from public sources. How the data is built.
